a letter to Ben Nelson

The New York Times released information about how we track enemies of the United States through financial transactions. This information should have been kept secret. Moreover they received this information from government officials, people who took oaths to protect the country. This information should never have been given to the New York Times.

Providing and publishing this information is an act of treason. The publishers of the New York Times, the reporters involved in the story, and the Government officials that provided the information have betrayed this country...again. The right to free speech, which the New York Times is hiding behind, does not protect individuals from treason. I hope you will use your considerable influence to help the president do his duty and bring charges against the individuals involved in this horrid act.

Sir we are fighting an enemy that seeks to kill us, and people on your side of the isle do not take this task serious, For whatever reason, Liberal institutions and liberal government workers have taken it upon themselves to undermine the Presidents effort to protect the country. I understand if you do not support the president in this, but you and the liberals in this country had your chance in 2004 to change policy by electing a new president and a new congress. That chance will come again this year. In the mean time to work against the President in the manner done by the New York Times and those that provided the information is an act of treason and must be dealt with.

Can you imagine this happening in WW2, the civil war. This is intolerable, the quests for political power must end when the country is at war, and make no mistake, we are at war. Do we have to be fighting in our streets before you and those on the left believe it. Your side must come to the realization that this enemy is best fought over seas, I do not want my daughter growing up in country were walking to school or going to a movie is life threatening. Do you understand? If we must fight, fight there, Policies supported by those on the left will not protect my daughter. If you cannot do your duty, say so, step down and let someone else do what needs to be done.

I do not mean this personally, I do not doubt your loyalty, but if you had the name John McCain or John Kerry I would. I know you are an honorable man, but sometimes for the purposes of being united against a common foe, politics must take a back seat. Why do you think President Roosevelt was elected to four terms, certainly not for his failed economic policies? He knew how to fight our enemies and did so. He believed in American exceptionalism, do you? WE can win this thing, we are winning, but it can be over sooner if our enemies see a united front. If our allies know are united resolve. Please help the President by supporting any action he orders against those who committed this grievous offense.
